Job Title: Production Controller
Reporting to: Alec Hart

BreconRidge currently has a requirement to fill two Production Controller positions ? open to both internal and external applicants for 5 business days. Please apply to Stephanie Cameron by July 20th, 2004.

Serves as a focal point for the coordination of the manufacture of client product. Uses manufacturing process expertise to ensure that a given product is manufactured according to plan, providing guidance and troubleshooting issues as they arise. Plans, monitors, and facilitates product launch, ensuring all production and related deliverables and schedules are met, through communication and influencing of internal colleagues and established clients.
Specific Accountabilities/Activities
・ Manage the execution of the MPS. Focus on delivering products on time with production.
・ Status orders. Ensure with Technical Program Managers that all requirements are available (in place) prior to work commencing ? materials, resources, drawings, schematics, process instructions, applications, software, etc.
・ Work closely with Master Scheduling to identify/address any risks.
・ Provide an essential “voice of urgency” for the customers on the production floor.
・ Participate in the “first time build” process and prioritize requirements as related to FTB meetings.
・ Provide vital real-time feedback to Technical Program Managers, Supply Chain Managers, and Procurement on build status information (“voice”).
・ Ensure “no-pops” and material substitutions are clearly identified on the production floor.
・ Manage rework orders from inception to completion.
・ Participation in the ECO review and ECO implementation for WIP.
・ Ensure timely back-flushing (orders, scrap reports, reels to inventory etc.)
・ Participate/input in the stop ship/stop build process (WIP information).
・ Work with IM on-going to update master data as pertains to accuracy of routings, master material settings, etc to ensure a closed loop.
・ Support the implementation of new materials management strategies; identify weaknesses (eg. ideal part reel formats, etc).
・ Ensure shift to shift communications are clear for hand-off information, priorities, risks, etc.
・ Identify material substations.
・ Work with Kit Up to proactively identify material issues.
・ Prioritize incoming material through Receiving and QM for expedient delivery to point of use/Kits
・ Work with Purchasing and Data Control to identify parts with inventory issues.
Qualifications/Education
・ Minimum of 5 ? 7 years of practical experience in all aspects of the manufacturing, planning and distribution processes and a strong understanding of the interrelationships between these processes
・ College Diploma in Business Administration or Operations, with 3-5 years relevant experience, or equivalent.
・ APICS would be considered an asset.
