Yes, but ONLY on the water, never set you feet on shore, that means you need a boat to do that.

are you sure? Fishing police in QC stoped me twice during my fishing on the shore (QC side) of Ottawa river and said nothing.

Generally, before I go there for fishing, I asked one of my co-workers who is living in QC to have called the related department of QC and they said it is ok to go fishing on QC side in Ottawa River, only in Ottawa River.

I hold a QC license and was checked by a police when I was fishing in Ottawa river on Ottawa side last week.
He said I could do fishing on either side of Ottawa river.
