MOKO, I appreciate your help, man. The information is very helpful.

I did some market research, the car is not expensive and has the basic desired functions - a $12000 (tax included) 1998 Honda Civic LX (ps/pb/ac/auto) with 97K mileage.

I will probably sell it after 2 to 3 years, think it's gonna give me fair bit of resale value, say $8000, I may ended up paying 2000 bucks per year for driving.

However, because this is the first car I have ever seen so far, and I am a fresh driver and a bit shy of money, I am not sure if I should take it. Will a 5000 dollar car be suitable for me?
