We moved out from 170 Lees Ave. at the end of last month. Before left, we clean the entire apt, however, a letter issued from rental office these days, say,
"When you moved into the uint you signed a lease stating that the unit was to be fit for immediate occupancy when you moved out. The unit was inspected and it was noted that the apartment was not fit for immediate occupancy. Therefore you are being charged $55.00 for the items not completed. please pay this amount immediately to the tental office by certified cheque or money order. if you have any questions please call the office at 233-0956."
Anyone has the experience to deal with it? I didn't phone to them for the reason because I think the lady is stubborn and non-negotiable since I have been tried to check mails in my mailbox. At that time, she insisted in not open the box because I moved out although I showed her my ID!
We took the apt from sublet. Before moved in, I asked them to check the apt because it had been subleted 2 times I know, however, nobody checked it anyway.
We moved in and out several times and never been complained and fined by the owners. Also, I learned the owner should prepare the apt for new tenant rather than moving in immediately, i.e. changing carpet and painting walls.
Any experienced and operational suggestions would be appreciated!
