渥太华清华大学校友会 Picnic 通知
TAAO (Tsinghua Alunima Association in Ottawa) will host a picnic on August 7 at Parc Du Lac Leamy to discuss children education issues. Our alumni, family members, and friends are welcome to join this picnic. A few of our alumni whose children have done exceptionally well (including this year’s Governor General’s Academic Award recipient) have been invited to lead the discussions.
The topics to be discussed may include:
2. Gifted program and how to get in
3. Private school, is it worth it?
4. After school program: Kumon
5. Ottawa high school rankings
6. How to go to a school that is not in your school boundary such as Lisgar?
7. Special programs and how to get in: i) Colonel By’s IB program; ii) Canterbury’s Arts program;
8. Going to an U.S. University, is it worth it?
9. Study materials
10. RESP
11. How to motivate children
12. Non academic: leadership training, debating, music, sport, etc.
13. Other
