The sign says there are 200
species of birds and 400 species of

If you park on Howe you can walk across
the grass to the bike path and there are

hares - they've become reasonably tame
and was able to get some decent shots.

master's cottage. And lots of mist,
if conditions are right!
Take River Road south (Extension of

off just after Honey Gables subdivision on
to Nicolls Island Road.

Turtles will dive in when you
approach them, but wait for 10-15
minutes and they will come back
Muskrats and otters are in generally Turtle
Pond (see map at web site)

Turtles (especially the snapping
turtles) are very active in
early/mid June laying eggs. They
usually come out at night, but
tracks can be found in the morning
on the beaches.
Muskrat winter "condos" are in first
"pond" west of the parking lot on south
side. Follow trail/road past the house and
watch for 5 muskrat huts in the pond.
Other muskrat lodges in other ponds
further east and on right as you drive away
from Petrie just

Eggs hatch in mid-September
(those that survive)
Beavers are in second "pond" (West along
the trail/road past the house) Trail branches
to south past end of first "pond", take
south branch. Beaver lodge on the

Thanks very much, GangW. This is what I'm looking for. It's a pity that the list is not very clear about direction but nonetheless it provides some clues to explore further.

Went to shoot some swans and sea gulls today and may post some later.

路左边(我是说CARLING)是一片远远圆圆的大草垛。可惜我相机的点测好像失灵了。我是估麽着暴的光,明天洗出来再看。往右拐,杀到头儿,就是一片开阔的沙滩,其实是石滩,落日不错。

谢谢. 想拍大草垛很久了, 可是每次看见都是在车里.

还有一个地方可以拍大草垛: 去Gatineau Park Part II的路上. 不过停车是个麻烦.
