I did a search first, but nothing came up.

Question: is it worth to lock up the Gas Price Protection plan provided by Direct Energy, currently at 30.4cents/cbm flat for 5 years? Enbridge recently incresed their price to 28c. Any bright ideas?

Also, what about the Furnace Maintenance Plan for $109.95 annually or Heating Protection Plan for $119.95 annually? Thanks a bundle.

the gas price going up every year,better to lock up,will save a lot $$$$,and i owned the hot water tank,and save $$$ too.

Thanks. Just the rental of hot water tank is over 10 bucks a month.

But the fine print says if during the five years term, if I want to cancel the contract I will have to compensate them 7c per cbm for the remaining period of the contract based on average consumption. Does that mean I cannot transfer to a different provider or can't sell my house?

basically means you have to stay with Direct Energy
u can sell ur house - only if ur next buyer keeps the contract with direct energy

you can cancel the contract whenever you end the contract with your heating service provider.
Ok, maybe not clear enough. Say Direct Energy is your gas provider, but Enbridge is still the service provider. If you call Enbridge say somebody else is going to pay for the heating and you want them to bill that person, then your contract ends and a new contract will start and you're going to get a new account for this same house, the same address. Usually there's a fee if you want to start a new account, used to be $25.
If you really want to try D. E. and later really want to cancel before 5 yr, try this. There is no problem selling your house.

But I would like to stay in the market. it's more fun!

我也和楼主有一样的疑问.ENBRIDGE现在是28C左右,但听说过几个月就会升,而DIRECT ENERGE现在是30C左右,请问选哪个比较好呀?谢谢啦 !
