我是租客不是房东,自己可以用房东cable申请登记Rogers Hi-speed Internet吗？ 如果房间没有cable插口,是否Rogers公司将派人免费上门安装连接数码电视或高速上网的硬件设施. 是否要额外支付把cable线接入到房间的费用?

Technically it's possible to apply Rogers Hi-speed by your landlord's cable account, but you need to have your landlord's concurrence, and also please note that the High-speed will be billed with the TV cable together if you apply though your landlord's Cable account.

Don't worry the installation, that's free of charge.

What do you mean "reliable"? I don't think ADSL is more reliable than Cable Ethernet. Also ADSL is slower.

The reliable is not only on the network side. I was heard that Rogers server are quite often to down compared with Bell, so many of my collegues turned to Bell from Rogers.
As the concern of speed, because the cable is shared, its speed largely depends on how many people are access the network on the same time. If you are the only person on line, for sure you will get higher speed than ADSL. However, if your neibours are downloading the movie, you probably need to wait a while.

You magify the shortcome of Ethnet. Actually I often download movie and the rate keeps at least 100KB/s, sometimes upto 150KB/s. So I must be very lucky ?!

BTW. the most annoying thing is ADSL service vender always limit the monthly bandwith, for example, Sympatico only offers 5GB/5GB for upload/download and will charge $7+ for 1 additional GB. So if you like to download movies as I am doing, better choose Rogers.

想问个问题，这个人多上网就慢，人数是什么范围的？是不是自己住的楼或是小区？如果住高楼那么多人share那肯定慢，我住低楼是不是就会快一点？我现在用的是Sympatico,觉得还行，因为现在还有他们的折扣，但是网上对於Sympatico的服务和乱收费的反应很强烈，搬了家打算换cable了，只是cable好像也是众说纷纭，有点拿不定主意，现在用cable的给讲讲体会吧。

我用的是ROGERS的CABLE，感觉还可以，费用还比较合理，服务也不错。
用户的范围好象不只是指你住的一个楼，好象附近的住户都算上
