my tenants had to pay deposits about a few years ago.
i did pay deposit too it was long times ago,i forot about my new house,and will take a look.

it depends on the credit rating on the name of the account.

If s/he had serveral late payments on the account, and when they reapply, they need to paid deposit.

Or if they are new immigrant, it always ask for deposit just in case.

it make no harm, you have interest higher than in the bank.~
