现在是否可以带西洋参回国?
前几天看过一贴讲香港对带西洋参入境者罚巨款.今天又找不到这贴了,请知情者告之.多谢!!!

one of my friends working in shanghai custome told me now it is in real risk to carry ginseng roots or cutted pieces to China, for the reason of local plant protection. and they do not have clear rule for this issue, perhaps case by case, person by person, damn it!
but processed ginseng products, ginseng capsules, ginseng tea is still allowed.
i guess it is some like the policy that wood is not allowed to take into Canada.

As said above, depending on the custom office in China.

For roots, legally you can, but a lot of trouble.

You need to get a "Phytosanitary" certificate approved within 13 days of arriving at China.
One person can do this is David Bedard (613-274-7374) at Kanata for $15(?).
You need to present a Cite (i.e., from the store and the roots need to be inspected by Canadian Custom Office) to proof they not not wild ginsengs.

Ginseng capsulates and ginseng tea are fine.
