Proposal of 4th FCSPC Championship Cup (Soccer) & Charity Game for Fundraising for the Flood Victims in Southeast China
Purpose: To raise fund for supporting the flooding victims in southeast China (all collected funds will be forwarded to Chinese Red Cross after subtracting operating expenses) and to facilitate multiculturalism in Canada.
Target: $20,000 after all expenses
Organizer: Federation of Chinese Students and Professionals in Canada (FCSPC)
Participating teams: Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) at the following universities
-University of Toronto
-York University
-Seneca College
-Centennial College
-University of Western Ontario
-Queen’s University
-McMaster University
-Guelph University
-Ottawa University
-Waterloo University
-Concordia University
-McGill University
Place: Miliken Mills Park, Markham, Ontario
Proposed Time: September 28, 2002
Schedules:
8:00-12:00 PM 1st Round (60 min/game): 12 teams will be divided into 4 groups, and play round robin, the top team of each group advance to play semi-finals.
1:00-2:30 PM 2nd Round (60 min/game): Semi-Finals
3:00-5:00 PM 3rd Round (80 min/game): Final
Fundraising methods:
1. Each sponsor will be designated as Diamond, Gold, and Sliver sponsor with a donation of $1000, $500, and $250, and their logos will be listed in the above categories on a ¼ page newspaper advertisement.
2. Each team member will be recommended to donate $5.
3. Besides 1 week advertisement on Sing Tao Daily and World Journal, 1000 poster will be posted through all major Chinese malls and stores in GTA region and Ontario and Quebec University’s campus.

The Federation of Chinese Students and Professionals in Canada (FCSPC, originally named FCSSC) was established in 1989. With members from coast to coast in Canada, the Federation is to serve the common interest and concerns of 44,000 people who originated from China; to help its new members integrate with Canada's society; to facilitate the multiculturalism in Canada; and to work as a bridge for the social, culture & economic exchanges between China and Canada.
