Recently attended a seminar provided by the Investment Group, got to know the importance of financial planning.
Does anybody have experience with a financial advisor?
Any recommendation/advice on this?

My own experience and thoughts on investment:

-> Everyone should have a financial advisor. Mine is from BMO.
-> Everyone should have some level of investment knowledge, the awareness alone helps to make better decisions.
-> Set an investment objective: for retirement, for children's education, or for purchasing a home. Investment strategy may differ depending on the objective.
-> Monitor returns, but don't change the investment strategy unless your investment objective is changed.

My intention for the post is to see if anyone could share their experience and recommend a good financial advisor or point out anything special to look for when choose one.

when look for a financial advisor, I would suggest the followings:

1) How much do they charge for the cousultation
2) Are the plan(s) achivable
3) Does it cover all the areas of your needs
4) Will the company helps you to achieve that goal
5) Does the company have any anually review
