Golf is an expensive sport. I never dreamed to play golf until I am recruited by Professional Engineer Ontario.

It was a drizzle day when I played my first formal game in the tournament organized by Pembroke Chapter. I was one of the three new members who got free ticket and teamed with three veteran golfers.

Honestly, I never practiced golf before and only watched a few times. I didn't know the rules, golf course, and any knowledge about golf.

Luckily, I hit the first ball. But the ball landed before the woman’s tee spot. It was embarrassed. The tournament played the best ball. My ball was never used as a best ball.

After the game, I bought a set of brand new golf club, new bag, and associated staff.


I practice and play the games. The longest and straight ball I hit is about 250 yards. But most of them are slice to right side. The driver is only used once in the game and tournament. The three wood is my comfortable club that I used in the tee. One day I played well and one day I played so bad.

My best score is 89 in a 72 par course and the best game I played is in thunderbird course. I got 5 pars in the 9 holes.

It has a lots fun when I play or practice.

How long have you played? For me, 89 for 18 holes is an amazing score...I wish I could be in 100, but have never had one :blowzy:

Par three Thunder Bird is an easy course, you cannot count on that...Even Riven could get two birdies there

It is a good question for the score. I couldn't give you a straight answer.

In 2000, I played foursome with three veteran players almost every Sunday morning. Most of time, we played at Island Brae Golf Club. Sometimes we played at Pembroke Shores, The twin Rivers, Oaks of Cobden.

The Island Brae Golf Club is a 9 hole club. We played 18 holes. So we have some advantage to know the club and green. The best score happened on middle of October. It was a very nice day. All of us got a good news. The factory got Eagle award. I got promotion.

These few years, I play less than less in the golf courses. But I still try to practice in the 19th Tee.

First game in Thunder Bird, I promised I would get 3 pars at least. But I got nothing. Second time, I said, I have a hope to get 3 pars. My partners just laugh. I got 5 pars in the second time.

I think you will get less than 100, if you play in one course for several times.

Golf is a tricky sport. One day you play well and the other is very bad.

Do you know, Tiger Woods could not find his ball at the first hole in US Open this year. Hundred fans watched his swing, but nobody knew where the ball landed.

If you think about this, you will get less than 100.

I love to play golf with you. But it is not a good time for this weekend.

How we schedule next Saturday. I live in the west end of Ottawa.

I only played two courses in Ottawa, Edgewood and Metcalfe. I have not played 18 holes yet this year.

Could you plese settle on the time and course.

I am only available after 2:00 o'clock on Saturday. Sorry I miscalculate my time.

I went perth several times. It is a nice place. But the time is not good for me driving to perth this weekend. If you like to play this Saturday, I think we can go to Carlback golf club (613-257-8623) or Richmond Centennial golf course (613-838-4791), Canadian golf and country club, (613-253-3290).

It is the first time I go to this course. I don't know it is good or bad. Let try it.

Hi Lao Mao,

The Canadian Club is fully booked when I tried to book the tee time. I just try to book a course near to you and I didn't check the course which is 9 holes or 18 holes couse.

I have canceled the tee time for Richmond club.

I have booked Riverbend Golf & Country club at 8089 Franktown Road, Richmond, 613-838-3014

This club has two 18 hole courses, regular one which includes 4 par 5 holes and par 3 and 4 course.

I booked the regular course for 18 holes at 71 par. The time is 2:40 pm Saturday for $25.

I can't find their website in the information I got. It si little bit far from Ottawa.

Rockie, could you join us with this course.
