Garmin StreetPilot
Magellan Roadmate

PDA 的 Garmin iQue 3600 很不错, 可惜是 PalmOS的

加拿大好象没有 Walmart 的网站, CanadianTire, Futureshop.ca 都没有 search 出他们来, 不知道是不是摆在店里, 还是要找汽车 dealer 买

还有其他电器店吗? US 有 Bestbuy (最差), Fry's (outpost), Circuit City, MicroCenter, CompUSA, 我都知道他们的价格. 加拿大的我只知道 Futureshop, 孤陋寡闻

Amazon 还是不错, 可惜有时候寄不过来, 还有不知道要不要补税

You visit www.canadiantire.com , then type "GPS" at the search, it leads you to www.canadiantire.ca

You visit www.futureshop.com , choose "English", it leads you to www.futureshop.ca

Anyways, you don't answer my question. I don't have difficulty in visiting their web sites. But I can only find very few GPS items from them, none of them is for in-car use (probably for hiking etc).

因为FUTURESHOP和CANADIANTIRE都不是专门的汽车用品店.我是没在这2家见过车载的GPS.你可以去一些改装车的小店去看看.或者一些专门卖音响的店里.他们没准有。但是价格都是很贵的。一个差不多要2000多。

我说的就是直接装在车的DECK上的,带屏幕的那种。如果你要那种PDA试的,直接去买个CAR CHANGER就可以了。再找个架子固定在车上.

I think it is software plus GPS receiver only.

I would buy a windows mobile 2003 based PocketPC with GPS receiver integrated and load Microsoft streets & trips.

If bluetooth supported PocketPC is also good if GPS receiver is not integrated.

Anyways, add PocketPC, GPS receiver and software/map up the price will sure more than USD400 (range 400 to 600).

明白拉

只要买个 bluetooth 的 iPAQ 就可以, 以后可以用 bluetooth 接 GPS receiver.

不过, 很多地图都有问题, 不是很准确. MS streets & trips 也不行. 反而是一些专门导航公司做给 PDA 的好一点. 不过有点贵, 带 GPS 要几百多. 象 Navman 新的 GPS 4410. 虽然很 cool, 但是要 200 多美金. 加 iPAQ 要上6, 7 百. 最大的遗憾是没有报路名.

I really like this one: iPAQ 4115 (integrated wireless, bluetooth, MS Mobile 2003, 64M RAM). It would be perfict if the ram can go up to 128M.

I have been using a notebook and a USB GPS receiver for the entire summer. It has been great.

USB GPS - from eBay US$45 to US$50
Map software, download or get it from Staples Cad$30-40
Any notebook with USB.

Handheld will not be my option, screen just too samll. GPS's main usage is driving.
