It really depends what do you want:

1. if you only want to buy a computer, you do not much about computer, try future shop, or Dell.

2. if you know some computer, try go to some small computer store, I tryed sometimes in Chinese computer store(such as Feda) do NOT go to Sprint.

you can custom what you like, price is good.

3. if you are not very rich (you know what I mean),
and you do not care too much the speed, I suggest you buy a used one,

usually PIII 800MHz ~1GHz around $350 (varied along with different equipment). Ottawa new group and some small computer is the best place, I do not suggest you go to the Used computer store.

Sorry, it is a typo, it should be news group,
registe on the ott with NNTP

then search ott.forsale.computing sub-group,

every day, tons of for sale ads posted there, it is pretty easy for you to find some good stuff.

sprint的机器我见了有四五台，用了一个月声音就大的像拖拉机了。

Usually it's because of the dust in the fan,
if you bring it back and Sprint Computer will do a cleaning for you

I don't believe any new deskstop computer will use PIII processor today. I won't surprise to see they come with a 3G processor and many of them are equiped with 2.2+ G processor.

By the way, 256M + memory (512M is prefered), minimal 30G hard drive (up to 250G)
