Pale skin is more prone to skin cancer than darker skin.

where is ur proof??, if u understand biology, u will know cancer most of them cost by P53 gene, if p53 gene become active. then growing cell will become cancer. that is nothing to do with skin color. actaully more sun burn will trigger the cancer.

Well duh! If a white guy and a black guy spend the same amount of time under the sun, who do you think is more likely to get a sun burn and increase their risks of getting skin cancer??

This may not be the most authorized source but it's the first one I found (http://www.newhomemaker.com/health/skin2.html), which I QUOTE Light-skinned people are more likely to develop skin cancer than dark-skinned folks.

Mkay? now get off my back!

BS, no knowledge talking, that is not what barbie asking, and that is two different kind of human group to compare each other, base on different gene maps, for black and white, their chromosomes and RNA maps are different.
and sunburn MAY trigger P53, not main reason to cost skin cancer, besides black and white has different gene, So u better go educated more before u talk. a piece of article NOT = result of real research.

本色儿。
俺就那句,你白,没有白人白,你黑,不比黑人黑。你还不知足,那叫自寻烦恼。:D

Just to add an exclamation mark to my point
http://www.healthteam.msu.edu/imc/modules/Shades of Skin Care/skin/contentpartone.htm

"Risk Factors
Individuals with white skin have an incidence of malignant melanoma (the most serious type of skin cancer) that is 10 times higher than those with dark tones of black skin.'

very simple question to u, why don't u go under the sun for 10 hrs a day to make it more darker, so u will get less chance of skin cancer???

Roll eyes

Allow me to point out that people of the same ethnic group can have different shades of skin tone too you know.

Gee, and he tells ME to educate myself. I believe I can't make my point clearer to the competent ones so excuse me if I don't waste more breath on you.

OMG

don't you get it? I'm talking about the NATURAL skin colour of people, not the AFTER-TANNING skin colour. Basically, if A has naturally pale skin, he/she is more prone to skin cancer than B who has naturally darker skin, assuming they spend the same amount of time under the sun.

But that is not to say B is exempt from skin cancer, she is just less likely to get it that's all! Well I'll be damned if B goes and spends more time under the sun just so she can get darker therefore exposing herself to a higher risk.

look back what u just said......what is ur point?? what was our regional topic?
