It all started with a question: Who is the Greatest Canadian? You answered. Boy, did you answer. In spring 2004, we received over a hundred and forty thousand Greatest Canadian nominations from all corners of the country. Now it's up to you to decide which Canadian comes out on top.
Ten nominees. Ten Advocates. Six weeks. One Greatest.
It's official: The final round of the Greatest Canadian debate is on, and only ten nominees remain.
For the next six weeks, CBC Television broadcasts The Greatest Canadian ? a series charting the nation's collective efforts to name the one Canadian who is the greatest of them all.
Tune in to CBC Television Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. local (8:30 p.m. NT), or CBC Newsworld Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. (rebroadcast) to watch the series that celebrates and debates our Top Ten Greats.
On November 29, the country will learn the answer to the burning question:
Who is the Greatest Canadian?
The Greatest Canadian series is underway, and your final Top Ten candidates for the Greatest have been revealed. Now ten accomplished celebrity Advocates are going to attempt to win your vote, each of them building a case for why his or her nominee is greater than the rest.
In a series of lively, revealing one-hour programs, CBC Television profiles each of the Top Ten Great Canadians, and showcases the reasons why thousands have selected him or her as a candidate for the title of the Greatest. Throughout every broadcast, a celebrity Advocate will use a potent mix of charisma and persuasion to help you decide who gets your vote.
After each and every broadcast, you can vote by web, phone or wireless text message for the candidate that you feel truly embodies greatness. And in a two-part finale beginning on November 28, you will have one last chance to have your say.
