Dear Friends;
I am a new immigrant landed on Canada a couple of months ago.I may get an offer in USA soon. Is there any friends who has knowledge or experience about the situation? I mean if it is possible for me to get US visa ? Any difficulty? Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, you may get trouble with getting the visa. I remember that I applied for the visa 5 years ago (for just taking vocation in NY). At that time, I had only been in canada for 1 year. I got rejected. From what the officer told me, that I wasn't able to show any tight relationship with Canada, which means that I may get the visa, and no longer come back. Therefore, he rejected my application. ( I even showed him my admission letter from University)

That was just my experience. But, I think they do take "the relationship with canada" as consideration. You can go and give it a try, maybe you are lucky, and get the visa!! :D :D

Good Luck

Hi alero;
Many thanks for your information. To be frank, that is what I am worried about. The road to our new immigrant seems very narrow.

You may have a try if you apply for H-1, and bring your immigration documents.

Don't complain too much. When you come here as an immigrant, you already enjoy lots of benefits such as low tuition, medical etc. As for your concern, it does exist as the US official could think you have intention to immigrant to USA. I had a friend who immigrant here and then want to move to US to reunite with her husband. She got rejected and had to stay here for a while (half a year or longer, cann't remember) before succeeding in getting the visa.
