That depends on your house using gas or oil or electricity heating. If gas heating, I am using Enbridge. And the rate is flexible (depends on current market situation.) . And how big is your house? For a 2000 sqft, if I let heat on about 12 hr/day, I'll spend about $150--$200 per month. It also depends on how isolation ability your house has. I know my colleage's old town house around 1500sqft, cost her around $180 per month for 8 hrs heat per day.
Sorry I have to response in English, I don't have chinese word processor.
Good luck.

How can you turn on the heat 12 hr/day? Do you use programable thermo controller or just turn off the heat when you left the house? Just move into a house, and want to know ways to save money...
Thanks!

Words of caution about turning off the heating in the winter. Do not completely turn off your heating in the house, but you can turn the temperature setting to a lower level such as 15degC. Turning off the heating in the house will creat a big problem, because when the house freezes, and the water inside the pipes and the water tank will turn into ice, and it will damage the pipes and the tank as the volume of the ice will grow bigger than it's in the liquid form. In this situation, the act of saving money by turning off the heat in winter will become a costly repair of water leaks in the house.

It isn't that cold turning off your heat for several hours will make your pipe frozen. Usually, when we go to work, I turn off the heat, after I come back, the temperature in house drops aroun 2 degrees. Of course, if you go trave a week or longer, you shouldn't completely turn off your heat. not only that, every year around late fall, when temperature reaches 0 degree, you should drain all your outside pipes (pipes direct to garden and garage), otherwise, they will be burst.
programable thermo controller difinitly is a good product for this. spending $10 on this, will save your several hundrend bucks on heating every year.
Acording your house size, I guess you probably will spend around $150 every month for your gas and electricity.
