Well, there will be less jobs especially IT one in Canada. Canada used to be one of the outsourcing destination for US IT companies, now with a high C$ it became much less attractive. On the other hand, US become a much less attrative place for Canadian to seek employment.

So the result will be less job and more job seekers. although high currency can be a proud thing, it is usually not good for those who sell their labours. You could simply price yourself out of the market.

Look at my previous post, I don't think high C$ will help the job situation.

Canada used to be an attractive place for US outsourcing, but high C$ will definitely reduce the salary cost advantage over US.

All considered, a high local currency is not a good thing for local people who make and spend 90%+ of their money in local currencies.
