Great Cheat
<HTML>- By doing the steps below you will get the info you need to use Dial Up
Networking rather than the software the free isp's give you...so far I have
got this to work on Altavista , xoom , freeatlast , 1stup , Bluelight and
netzero !!!
1.Goto Control Panel
2.Goto Network
3.double click on dial up adapter
4.Goto advance tab
5.click on record a log file then on value change no to yes
6.restart
7.now dial up with the internet software you use
8.disconnect then goto start then run and type in ppplog.txt
9.Now this is where it gets fun , after you find ppplog.txt you will need to
scroll through it and look for your user name or the internet service you
are trying to use , keep in mind that each time you signon it will write to
this file so you will need to start at the bottom of the file to look for
the last service you signed on to " remember that " most of the time the
info you need is near the bottom , Now when you open this file your going to
see a lot of numbers and letters , the info your looking for will be on the
right side of all of this . What your looking for could be just your user
name or it could be
username@whatever.com followed by a period or a blank
space and then the password . Dont be shocked when your little 6 letter
password turns into a 15 letter password or your user name has other numbers
or letters in front or behind it , this is normal and you need to copy all
of this info down just as it shows it ..it is case sensitive..
I know this sounds hard to do but its really not . If you cant find your
info just send me a copy of the ppplog.txt file and i'll help you , Its a
free internet service what am i going to do " Steal your account "..Just be
sure the internet service you want me to help you with is the last one you
signed on with before you send me the file....
10. If you dont see a password after the login name you need to try another
access number , I'm not going to try and explain why, it will only make
things harder..Just so you know it took me 4 numbers on Bluelight to finally
get a server that showed my login and password ....
Just a few more notes
On some of these Free Isp's you might get disconnected as soon as you sign
on , if this happens try the following
-you MUST recieve traffic the exact instant you connect or the line will go
dead immediately . Just open your Browser and start to surf as soon as you
are connected...
-Experiment with the different local numbers in order to recieve the fastest
connections and the lowest pings
