I have to get 2 of my vehicles Emission Tested this afternoon.

let your engine get as hot as possible before being tested. this allows
more of the harmful emissions to be burnt away. I had to get my 86 Z past,
so i temporarily hooked my fan up to a switch, and bypassed the electric
thermostat.

I think it is the amount of alcohol in the gas that helps, not all high
octane has this. Usually the cheaper gas stations have it in their high
octane gas. In addition, slightly faster idle, new plugs, and new oil help.

There is the trick. That is what all these so called additives require you to do. If you drive any vehicle down the highway for 20 minutes and then test it, the emissions will almost always come down, compared to a vehicle that has not been driven down the highway for twenty minutes. It is a scam.
There are some fuel additives that can have some "marginal" effects on emissions but anything put into the oil pan is going to have next to no effect on emissions output. Unless the vehicle has a crack piston ring with excessive blowby, which an additive would not resolve by any means.
Tell them to do that little test without driving the vehicle down the highway for 20 minutes, I will lay money down the results are much different.
It wasn`t the additive that helped, it was the 20 minute drive.
