For those of you considering a home alarm system WITH monitoring service, ask yourselves some questions:

* Do you have property insurance?
* Do you think those who commit thefts will be caught on the scene, given the current police response time, and the so called "quick response team" provided by the alarm company?
* Do your insurance company give you back any rebate that actually covers in full the cost of monitoring?

Alarm system not fully protectable that's for sure. But it do have some advantage and not that kind of expensive.

You know what I heard from a alarm system salesperson: the best tool against burgulary is the sticker on your window "this house is protected by XXX!".

Having an alarm system is OK, for your piece of mind, I just think security monitoring is useless, even at $15 per month, which is a fantastic price, that's $180 per year, and they make you sign for at least 2 years.

You know what I heard from a alarm system salesperson: the best tool against burgulary is the sticker on your window "this house is protected by XXX!".

This sticker thing seems true. I know some people actually doing that. All they have is the sticker on the window. This reminds me that one of my friends once offered me one or two stickers. I better check with him.
