Ed B. reports:
A quick note on the Club Fish. I went with Jim L. - we got there about 10:30
AM. We saw Gerry Bent and his friend, Phil, in Baxter bay. They reported
some crappie. We also saw Bob Stoddard and Bob Burns in the Baxter bay area.
They were not very communicative, but it sounded as if they were catching
some small crappie. The new member, Skip Lafreniere and his wife, Sue, also
arrived just as we were launching. We didn't see them after they launched
and they were gone when we got back.
We went by the launch site at 1:00 PM but no one came in. We spotted Gerry
and Phil up in the little inlet beside the ramp, but couldn't talk to them.
Jim and I had a decent day. We each got our limit of thirty 8 inch+ crappie
plus at least 20 more each that were too small. Jim and I each got a 15
inch+ largemouth. I got two or three others, about 10 -12 inchers. Jim got 6
largemouth all together.
I got the biggest crappie - a 13 7/8 incher shortly before we called it
quits. We were on the way home at 5:30 PM - Burns and Stoddard had left just
as we were pulling up to the ramp.
Not a bad day.
