Can we re-apply or re-get Chinese Citizenship after we've got Canadian Citizenship?

听领馆的人说过, 回到你出国前户籍所在单位(或者街道), 要求恢复户口和国籍, 在办那手续的时候就会要求你放弃加拿大国籍. 照着做就是了. 只是听说, 没办过. 细节不清楚.
