办理父母探亲签证

有下列问题不知如何作答，请有经验人士指点：
1 IMM5257 Item4: Indicate how long you plan to stay in Canada
是填三个月好还是半年好，听说不论是三个月还是半年，入境的时候一律给半年，是这样的吗?
2 IMM5257 Item10: Name and address of my present employer or school
父母都退休了，在第九项已填了"retired", 这一项还要填吗?
3 家属表 FAMILY COMPOSITION INFORMATION
申请人的父母亲都已过世，是否在“现行地址”处写“deceased"就可以了?

Very easy to got confused here, it means grandparents -- parents of applicant(s). I think u02 is right.

The time for stay in IMM5257 is only used for visa application, the shorter, the better.
The acutally time they can stay in Canada is determined when they arrive Canada, normally six months. I don't know if they shorted the period after 9.11.
Two dates are totally un-related.

I heard that somebody filled with 6 month, then guess what? they were required to have physical exam.

The physical exam is required for person over certain age (I remember it's 65, not sure). For others, it's picked randomly, so doesn't matter how long you stay.
It's better to claim staying shorter, it will get less chance to have their visa rejected for the reason of immigrant possibility. Put you in the visa officer's shoes, can you imagine that a Canadian will invite their parents stay their home for six months?

还有一个问题：资金大概应写多少? 是否可以把RRSP里的钱都算上?第一次什么也不懂，问题很多，请各位包涵!

If you gonna to support them, you should have enough money for their travel, accomodation, and daily activity (food, etc.). You need to provide the bank statement that shows you have this amount of money.
You cannot count on the RRSP because it could not be used by daily expenses.
Also, now they require bank statements for previous six months to show your normal activity.

The visa will be valid for three month period.
