If I get a parking ticket while traveling in another province. Do I need to pay it?

I am living in Ottawa. I am using Ontario driver's licence and plate. I got a ticket while traveling in Montreal. It is about parking. Do I need to respond to it. If I plea of not guilty. Do I need to go to Montreal to attend the trial?
