one piece of siding dropped from the coner?

Hi all,
my house has aluminum siding. and one piece of it dropped from the corner. and we put it back using aluminum nail. Is that ok? I always afriad that the wood inside will be damaged if some water going inside from the opening fissure.
any suggestions? or opinion?
