2004 was a total waste to me. life is too short but sometimes you just let it go aimless. sigh....
a lot of things flash in my mind of what i have seen in the year. Some are good and some are ugly. Basically, i lost almost all my friends in Canada. Lots of them moving back to the homeland. A couple of guys still hanging around are struggling for their daily needs. A couple had a fight over the difficulty of living here and branched out for different life after living together many years. A lady had to work at sexual massage parlor to raise money for her coming back to the normal life. Luck enough she got a decent job now. But I believe the integrity and decency of her life has been ruined. One guy had to leave here because he exhausted his last dollar here without being able to find the life he was seeking for. And finally, another friend is still strolling along the cold street leading to the college trying to finish his endless schooling... ...
Me, still working at same job day in and day out. Still feel lucky that i still have my rice bowel full everyday. But i will soon pack my degree roll and shovel my bookcase that full of classic management books because they are so useless. i gained ten kilos in the year and would not last 20 minutes on the treadmill i am telling you, buddy, this is the feeling of going down the hill. this is time in your life you know you are just over the peak and you are going down.
life is always a box of chocolate and you never know what you will have in the box. So, one guy went back home and is earning over 100,000 Cdn now in China still telling me that he miss Canada very much. Oh, yeah, I miss that 100,000 Cdn very much. Another boy called me from Singapore said he is making 6 digits of salary but he is not happy at all because his company is not the top 10 companies in the world. Hmmm..., he better come here and try to get a labor job. i can bet he will not get it.
So, what is my point. My point really is that the purpose of life is to find the truth of yourself. The meaning of coming to Canada is you will live under your free will. i think this is what i got from the citizenship judge. You will never be judged by anyone or how much money anymore. You would be rather judged by yourself. The question is can you face the mirror yourself.
See, when I was in college. I am always dreaming of being the captain Jack Aubrey to conquer the enemy. i hope i can live life the fullest. I would like to be like Col. Frank Slade in the scent of woman living in the best hotel in NY, drive the red Ferrari and sleep with the woman of the top of the line and die. But I just realize I am just so mediocre and my tomb slab will bear nothing important. but sometime you know you got to do sth. different. you can not like what Enimen's song says... let the life time opportunity slip
you know what I then realize this is exactly what you see in "American Beauty". The beauty of life does not necessary only exist in magnificent moment or things. it can be with you if you have an observable eyes. so, here is my plan for the new year.
i will read three pages a day. it will be 10,000 pages a year
i will do cycling 5,000 km. i will go to tour ile Montreal in May.
i will build the best 100 books of my library
and finally share more time with my family.
i have to publish my little plan here to let you guy monitor me. basically i am too lazy sometimes. if you can share your new year's resolution here. that would be great!
