Hi,

I come across this topic a while ago, but never had a chance to dig deep into it. I have always wonder if a PR can work for Canadian government? If so, how does it work out?

Of course, if no security clearance of secret level and above is required.

Yes.

Hiring progress is not much different from private sector. Resume, cover letter, interviews...

PR can get Enhance Level Security clearance, just can't get Secret and Top Secret Level ones.

I see. Thank you for the information. Are those PR got hired directly by the government or through a contracting companies?

Priority will be given to the citizen.

Does it mean

I do not have any chance, or very very little, tiny chance?
SO it is better to give it up?

Some I know got hired directly by the government through co-op, others went through agencies. Experienced professionals tend to use agencies more often, but that's another topic le.

didn't PR can only work contract???

No, it's irrelevant, but priority is often given to citizens and some jobs require secret level or higher clearance, which applies to citizens only.
