I have not done much research on comparing the brands of central vacuum cleaners. From my past experience, Eureka wouldn't be my first choice. Among the various brands of vacuum cleaners, Miele, Panasonic, Dyson, Bosch and Bissell (steam vac only) would be my choices to start with.

Costco is selling Bissell now. Is this one (with steam vac only) better than upright vac? I want buy the vac powerful enough to clean all hairs on the carpet. Can Bissell do the job well? Thanks

We are not talking the same things here: upright refers to the construction of the vacuum: upright, as compared to canister and central vac.
Yes Costco does carry Bissell steam vac, and it fits into the category of upright vac, but I'm not sure what "upright Bissell" you were referring to. 2 of my friends have Bissell steam vacuum cleaner, and it works well on carpet. However I don't believe that you can use a steam vac on hard surfaces, so that's a no no for my household. You can simply google if you want to find out more about vacuum cleaners.
