In a nutshell, you can use up to $40,000 combined RRSP to purchase your first house, and pay it back tax-free over the next 15 years.

You do not have to pay anything in the first two years, i.e., you start to pay back in the third year (total amount /13 year). The deadline for your payback each year is the same as the deadline of the regular RRSP contribution for that year.
