What is required?

Other Language Information : Eligibility lists will be established for English Essential and Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB. Candidates should specify which lists they wish to be considered for.
Education: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary education program in computer science, information technology or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience: Significant experience (minimum of 2 years)in using and operating office software and/or providing support for various operating systems and/or troubleshooting in a microcomputer environment used at Health Canada. Experience in drafting procedures or processes for implementing IT solutions at Health Canada. Experience in analyzing client needs and developing technical documents and manuals for Health Canada technical staff or end-users, to define solutions in order to meet business needs. Experience in at least one IT project contributing to the acquisition of a broader base of IT experience.

What are the functions?
Provides 3rd level support for production and infrastructure protection services. Provides product policy, support standards, processes as well as ensures that all support staff are aware of their responsibilities (documentation). Participates in Infrastructure Engineering (IE) project teams focussing on documentation and reporting. Work towards a total cost of ownership Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model for each product (costing models belong to Business Management). Work with and supports IT architecture.

Eligibility lists may be established to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles and tenures within Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada . 5.
