They look to me like damages from some sort of chemical solution.
When did these little marks first appear? Try to recall what happened around that period.

Some damages made from dropping solutions and other from hard materials, such as toys and tools. My son often dropped his toys and made such pots.

Here are more suggestions to the possible causes of your problem, after more googling:
-burn marks;
-damages by grit and dirt;
-damages by high heels;
-marks left by dragging the furnitures and not lifting them;
-damages left by vacuum's beater bar.
