Fly to US?

Hello,

I wonder if some people here fly to US a lot. Generally speaking, which airlines are good (in term of services, pricing, rewards, etc)?

I flied to San Jose before using American Airlines and i was not impressed the planes were old and no food was provided in the flight

I always buy the lowest priced tickets with shortest duration, no complains so far. AA, AC, no big difference to me. :blink:

Southwest is good, but you don't get it from Ottawa.
AA is actually one of the better ones, the worst is Northwest.

Right. None of them is as good as AC. AA is the better one, Northwest is the worst. I saw how rudely a lady was treated in SFA. It will be my last choice.

U mean Air Canada is the best??? Is there a way to transfer the airmiles from AA to AC?

You can collect Aeroplan miles while taking AA. They are Star Alliance. Just use your aeroplan number when you check in at AA.

U mean Air Canada is the best??? Is there a way to transfer the airmiles from AA to AC?

Depends on where you leaving, AC used to have YOW -> SJC direct flight, but now I guess you have to go through ORD

Really? So you are actually collecting mileage at 2 airlines?

We flew AA to SFA once, connecting at ORD. The YOW-ORD leg was on an American Eagle, small and crappy, but that's what you get in Ottawa, pretty much. But the ORD-SFA leg was an AirBus, so it was actually not too bad, also we sat in the emergency row, so a little more legroom. And I remember for flights longer than 4 hours they do serve meals. Shorter than 4 hours, only snacks and refreshments.

Doh! I have tons of AA points! Should have used it on my last flight to Vancouver.

AA is not in this alliance. Last time, when i took AA, it sucked. The airplane was so old that i was afraid it would crash and no food provided even on the flight from chicago to SJ.
