我是个SINGLE MOTHER带着一个五岁的小女孩。最近在找房。看中了一个三十几年的
老房子。原来是出租的。最近物业要内部装修，然后卖掉。我看了他们的样板房还
不错。但不知30几年的老房子会不会有什么潜在的问题？我对房子一窍不同，不知
该注意什么对这种老房子。 还有，这是TOWNHOUSE，没车库，只有车位，大约1250SQFT，
价格大约$185，000，大家觉得贵不贵？

还有学校，我女儿原来上FRECH IMM， 我还想让她上FRENCH，有两所学校付近，Agincourt
Road Public School and Knoxdale Public School, which one is better? Or any
other good school recomended?

Any response is really appreciated, I really want to find a good place for
us to settle down, don't want my daughter moving around any more.

Based on their EQAO scores, knoxdale seems to be a better choice. But you really need to go to the school in person to find which school environment is better suited for your daughter.

Why don't you buy a new house? In Central park, there is a two years old house
to be sale. The prise is $239,000. This is very good location.

In current market, the location is more important rather than the size.

Why don't you buy a new house? In Central park, there is a two years old house
to be sale. The prise is $239,000. This is very good location.

Central park所属学区的英语小学很不怎么样，不过FRENCH的小学好像也是Agincourt，Central park所属学区的高中非常差，就是Loblaws对面那个，听说全市倒数能数得上，Central park北面那一片政府楼也很吓人。


GREENBANK所属学区的高中很不错，全市能数得上，和渥太华教育局是邻居。据说那地区的房价和这高中多少有点关系。

Are you talking about the townhouses located at Greenbank & Baseline/Montery? I know someone live there before, and she did not like it.
The price for a 30 year old townhouse with no garage is too expensive. I bet there are condo fee as well, which could be anywhere from $130 to $200 per month? For that price you can buy a brand new town house in Kanata Emrald Meadow.
Or you can buy a two bedrooms townhouse with garage in Central Park for $200,000.

Basically what I am looking for is a good school and neighbourhood for my little daughter, and easy access to downtown area,( i work there). The price range is below $200,000. The house is no need big, since only 2 of us. If you have any good recommendation, it's really appreciated. :thanks:

Your view is wrong. In the cetral park, right now, the higher school is Nepean
higher school. My daughter will go to Nepean higher school since Laurencian
higher school is closed.

我早几年就听说教育局要把Laurentian High School关掉，因为学校的校风一代传一代，实在搞不好。恭喜，因祸得福。

For greenbank and Centerpoint area, the townhouse is around that price. You can check the price of townhouse in centerpoint and see if this price is expensive. I saw many townhouses are on sale in centerpoint area, and the houses there are new (less than 15 years) and the community is better.

As for school, I know Knoxdale is pretty good.
