So happy to pass the G1 Road test today!
I did it this afternoon in Walkley. I'm lucky that even though i made more small mistakes than the first time,I still passed. The safety island is the most tricky part of the exam. Be prepared for any possible situations that you may encounter. Better practice it many times at the exit.
The examiner is also an important part. This time it was a very nice middle-aged man, number 128. Last time i met a young lady, she was so picky that she also failed most of the examinees that day. And I was so unfortunate to meet her! In fact, it's a general rule that those younger women enjoy failing people, while those middle-aged gentlemen enjoy hearing your thankful words.
To recommend a good driving instructor: Mr. Li. (cell)8629005.
He knows many tricks of the exam and most importantly, you really improve your driving skills and your knowledge of traffic rules during the process.

I learned 12 hours with Li. Before that, I only had 10 hours road experience.
The first time I took the exam, I chose Walkley by myself. So all my practice was done in walkley. The 2nd time, Li suggested me to stay with Walkley since I am already familiar with those test routes.
I heard that Trembly is simpler in terms of the road condition. But there's a route that needs continuous lane changing before a left turn. I can't tell which test center is more tough. However, if you are familiar with the traffic rules, especially the "right of way", either test center is fine.
About the time, don't choose rush hour. More traffic will make lane change difficult. Also, you encounter more complex situations on the way, such as the school bus. My test time was 2:45pm. You can choose any time between 9:30-11:30am, 1:00-3:00pm.

To make an appointment in ottawa is quite easy. Both Walkley and Trembly have increased the number of their examiners. Plus that there are always people cancelling their appointment. When I registered for the 2nd exam, i got an appointment 4 days later. When you call, the automatic touch-tone system will always give the earliest possible date. If you are lucky, say, sb. cancelled the exam the next day, you will be offered that time. Just call the following number to get more information and to book an exam. Good luck!

That is called "G1 exit road test" and you get G2 license.
"G2 exit road test" and you will get full G license.
