IPS (Integrated Pregnancy Screening) is done between week 12 to week 16, to verify whether the future baby has down syndrome or not. It is done in 2 parts. First part is ultrasound, to measure the thickness of the baby's neck, done at week 12; second part is blood test, done at week 16, if the baby has down syndrome, the blood test result will review positive, then furthur tests/actions will be conducted. In most normal pregnancies, over 90% IPS test results are negative (no down syndrome), so the chances are fairly low.
