Object: IMPORTANT : Suspension of all Teaching Activities with regard to the strike by UQO Students
Good Afternoon,
The Association générale des étudiants (AGE) just informed us that Students have decided to launch an indefinite strike, starting tomorrow, in relation with the Government of Quebec position over Loans and Bursaries. Following this decision by AGE, taken at a meeting where many Students have participated, UQO Executives have decided to take the following measures :
1. No change for to-day, Monday. Courses are given, following the regular schedule.
2. Regular courses that should have happened on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, as the ones of Friday afternoon, are suspended. However, Internships are maintained, with the usual supervision during these days. It is the same for Graduate Studies research activities: they proceed like normal.
3. All other University activities proceed like normal during that period; employees will be at work.
4. The situation will be reassessed following the decisions by AGE during its Friday meeting. UQO will evaluate later on how the suspended activities will be treated, looking for ways to keep the length of the Winter Semester within the regular calendar.
These measures apply also to activities of Centres out of Gatineau.
Thank you for your attention,
Denis Dubé
