Agree. The nerves and muscles governing defecation and urination do not mature in most babies until 18-24 months. Babies who begin toilet training later achieve control faster than those hurried to the toliet earlier.
I started training my daughter when she was about 8 month old. I would hold and let her pee into the bathtub to begin with whenever she woke up. All babies pee whenever they wake up. So are adults ) I put her on her potty two weeks later and she loved it. It is now her routine to pooh and pee into potty first thing in the morning. I have heard stories that it's harder to train when kids get older. That's why I started early. I don't know if it's true for every kid but I didn't want to take the risk. I love the fact that she poohs into potty. Less mess!)
