除了樟脑，这里的当地人还不喜欢什么？

今早起了个大早，去洗衣服。因为懒，所以把一些新内衣也一并扔进了洗衣机。
洗衣房里还有个白人家庭主妇，她闻到了我内衣上的樟脑味，便开始一个劲地告诉我:

这里已经没人在用樟脑了，因为这里不用担心虫蛀，如果你还不放心可以用[si:dE](和seeder同音，她说是一种hardwood,可惜我不晓得是什么东西)。

从她的表情，语调来看来她是很不喜欢樟脑味的。

我虽然不喜欢她的语气，但回想一下，确实除了自己的衣箱，在别的地方没闻到过樟脑味。
不知这里还有什么忌讳？
我发此贴只是想让熟悉这里风俗的朋友指点一二，加快自己入乡随俗的进程，也帮大家提个醒，希望回帖别上升到爱国教育的高度，谢谢！

She was right (and she probably meant well too), hardly anyone still uses moth balls anymore.
Ontario is a pretty dry place, there is really no need for moth balls.

I personally don't like the smell of moth balls either. You can get some lavender/tea rose scented sachets or hangers to keep your underwear smelling fresh, like this:
