Here is another opportunity for you to clean out your garage and basement and get rid of your household hazardous wastes. This Saturday October 5, come to our one-day Household Hazardous Waste Depot from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Drain-All Environmental Services facility located at 2705 Stevenage Drive (between Hawthorne Road and Russell Road, south of Walkley Road).
Bring your household wastes to the depot and we’ll take care of them. You don’t even have to get out of your car!
Examples of household wastes that you can drop off include: leftover paint, turpentine, brake fluid, aerosol containers, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, pool chemicals, insecticides, stains, wood preservatives, barbecue starters, oven cleaners, disinfectants, herbicides, fungicides, furniture stripper, gasoline, window cleaners, used needles and syringes, etc. We will reuse, recycle or dispose of these materials in an environmentally friendly manner.
You can also drop off your household hazardous waste at the permanent Household Hazardous Waste Depot located at the Trail Road Landfill Site off Moodie Drive. The permanent depot is open every Saturday until November 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Some household wastes such as automotive, pharmaceutical and computer products can be taken back to participating Take it Back! retailers. The Take it Back! directories are available by calling the City at 580-2400 or by visiting the City’s Web site: www.ottawa.ca.
