The nearest is close to 1000 Island... You need a car to drive there. From Ottawa take 416 South stay on 416 South (do not connect to 401) you get the border. It is a very small border crossing. Last time I only saw two US custom officers.

416开到头, 不上401, 直接过去美国边境那里就可以了. 要开车. 注意带存款单(如果你是技术移民的话).
