Those are step down transformers. They convert 2kV to 110V that supply electricity to your home. They are made of copper wire, magnet, and iron core.

is that green box usually in the front of some houses? I was told these boxes are not high volt. Thay are all low volt at 110V, these are connectors to each home. it should have no harm if it is low volts.

There is a label on a transformer:

I listened to the radio and walked around a transformer, but I didn't hear any noise.
