Everyone has his/her right to vote yes or no. My question is, why we vote "yes" and we are "brainless idiots"? In BBS pls repect other people, and u can gain respect from others.

I don't want to argue with u on your historic view. But personally I think Chinese anti-Japanese sentiment is justified: Japanese interpretation of history offence us. That is it!

What's your view then?

I don't think that the CNN article conflicts too much with what's happened, except some details.

What do you think, speak it out please.

That's what we want. Our internal affair has nothing to do with
the other people in the world. No matter how many chinese died
during the great leap forward. It is our own business, outsiders
has no right to blame us. We can correct it by ourselves.
As for japaness invation, it is a totally different story, we as
a nation is the victim. We deserve a revenge. It is just a matter
of time, no matter the world likes it or not.
Yes, we are angry. And we want the world to know it. Whoever insult
china will be punished later.

Again, CNN is changing the subjects.
Their logic is if japanese textbook is to be corrected, so does china's.
Yes, we are going to change our own textbook, but its our own business,
we didn't invade any other country. Don't tell me the war with india and
vietnam is comparable to what japan did in WWII. We just need to be more
resposible to our own people.
But japan is different, they change the textbook to cover the crime to us.
That's intolerable. We have every reason and right to fight.

One evil doesn't justify the other. True that Chinese government has its own share in the shame of twisting the history and justice has yet to been done in that regard. However, that does not mean Japanese could deny the terrible crimes their people had committed against Chinese, Asian peoples, and the humanity as a whole.

My vote was, YES.

I actually appreciate CNN for bringing up that topic. While the anger of us Chinese against the Japanese’s evil twist of history is well justified, the same shame is on our own government.

This is exactly how I feel.

CNN的文章也很有意思。

...

While Japan's distortions of its history appear driven by a reluctance to accept shame, China's are aimed at preserving communist rule, said Sin-ming Shaw, a China scholar at Oxford University in England.

"Not owning up is a calculated political policy," Shaw said
