Sounds like you'll be doing a competition!

I hope you have kept the original job posting and description. Use that as the key reference to prepare for your test. Especially pay attention to Statement of Qualification and Experience section. The test questions will be made based on these areas.

The hiring department usually will interview higher rank of test score candidates, once you pass the interview, you'll be likely placed in an "eligibility list". Then they'll perform the security check and all the paper work, and you can start working after all these.

Here is the job discription.

Experience in simulation and modelling or in a development capacity in related scientific disciplines, such as, real-time multimedia, human interfacing, virtual reality technologies, and distributed interactive applications or real time imaging.
Knowledge in simulation and modeling (with special emphasis on distributed simulations, spatial databases and interactive 3D graphics)Knowledge in computing and networking (protocols and security)Knowledge in documentation, design, and industrial standards

Hi CN,

I do not have engineering background, thus I am not too sure how you can prepare for the technical part of the test. However, since this is your field, I still recommend you prepare your competition based on the Experience and Knowledge they have stated in the job description. Gov't is usually careful making their test questions not outside of the stated range, otherwise there will be tons of appeals afterwards. I hope these helps, good luck!

From the job description, it sounds like a job in Army Simulation Center in Kingston. You may need to know Fortran, VC++ and Genesis simulation. Development was done by civilian contractors and intern students.
