请教父母探亲签证期限问题。

父母来探亲，北京发的签证是：from date of issue, to expire date 是3个月。温哥华入境时，护照上盖了一个篮章只注明入境日期，其他什么都没有。
这样如何理解在加拿大的居留期限。

My parents just got their 3-month visa in Beijing a few days ago.
I think they can extend their visitor visa to 6-month during boarding in Vancouver.
Is there anyone who experience this before? Please share your information with us, much appreciated!
