ANNOUNCEMENT
Non-Immigrant Visas
Please note that as of June 17, 2002, the Consular Section of the American
Embassy in Ottawa will accept applications for non-immigrant visas only
from persons who have made appointments. Persons coming to the Embassy to
apply for a visa without an appointment will not be admitted, but will be
provided information about how to make an appointment.
1) To schedule a non-immigrant visa appointment by phone, please call:
1-900-451-2778 (from Canada only) Cost of call: $2.00 (Canadian)/ minute
1-900-443-3131 (from the U.S. only) Cost of call: $1.65 (U.S.)/ minute
Please do not call the Embassy for an appointment. To obtain information
about application procedures and fees, you must call the 900 telephone
service.
2) If you wish to schedule a non-immigrant visa appointment by phone and
do not have access to the 900 telephone service, you may use a credit card
and call: 1-888-840-0032 (from Canada and the U.S.)
3) To schedule a non-immigrant visa appointment through the Internet, go
to the following web address: www.nvars.com.
Please be advised that visa processing may take as long as 30 days from
the date of application. Visa applicants are strongly urged to request
appointments as far in advance of their date of departure as possible. By
using an appointment system, applicants will receive more complete
information prior to their scheduled interview, and more efficient service
upon arrival at the Consular Section.
Note: The application fee for non-immigrant visas is U.S. $65.00. This
fee is non-refundable, and applicants must bring the exact amount in cash.
