where can I get my laptop fixed?

Could anyone tell me where I can get my laptop fixed? It is a rather old computer that I bought second-handed from a Chinese guy who runs a computer shop. But now, either the power or the battery is not working at all, and I cannot find the guy who sold it to me. I went to Sprint on Sumerset street the other day and they charge me 60 per hour just for labor. I cannot afford it. I would really appreciate if anybody could tell me where I should go for help.
