大家好，请问养猫的朋友2个问题

不是说小猫出生后要打3针么？我家的mimi第1，2针都打了，一岁的那针我忘记是不是打了，但是现在她已经2岁了，还有打第3针的必要么？

刚才看了一下我家mimi的Vaccination record，上面是这样记录的
7 weeks:Rhinotracheitis Calicivirus Panlekopenia
11weeks:Rhinotracheitis Calicivirus Panlekopenia Leukemia
16weeks:Rhinotracheitis Calicivirus Panlekopenia Leukemia Rabies
这是3针的记录么？

还有就是最近看见有些人的mimi身体出了问题，所以想给自己的mimi做个健康检查，请问一般的健康检查英文叫什么？大概多少钱呢？

同人一?叫"check up". 收偻?乎攒所而定. 一般在$150 - $200.

It's called Annual Physical with Vaccines .

You need to give your cat 3 shots if it's her first time being vaccinated. Because you did not get the third shot, the first 2 shots were useless and were wasted. Your cat is not immue to anything now.

To get her vaccinated again, you need to book 3 appointments to get her vaccinated: the cat vaccine is called FRVCP, it needs to be given 3 times with a 3-5 week gap in between, and the Rabies shot is usually given a the 3rd visit. The price could range beween $50 - $80 depending on which clinic you go to and what additonal shots you want to give your cat (there is feline Leukimia vaccine for outdoor cats), so for 3 visits it would cost around $200.

Please contact your vet clinic and they will let you know the details. Tell them you need your cat to have an annual physical with vaccines and they will set up appointments for you. To find a vet near you, look in the Yellowpages under Vets.

I assume cats would use similar vaccination schedule as dogs, but forgive me if I'm wrong, in which case I would advise you to listen to Shayla since she actually works in a vet's office.

My puppy had the 3 shots as follows:

1st Shot: week 7, immediately after he got home and left mother dog.
2nd Shot: week 10.
Last Shot: week 14, a certificate of vaccination was given to us at this time to be able to attend puppy school.

That's correct - cats and dogs do use the same vaccination schedule. 2 boosters are given initially parted by 3-5 weeks (no longer than 6 weeks!), then a final shot is given followed in 3-5 weeks time. After the final shot your pet is done for the year, and annual vaccines are given around the same time next year. Rabies are usually given once every 3 years (Imrab 3), unless it's an annual rabies vaccine (Imrab1). Your vet will tell you exactly what to do.

Outdoor cats may require an additional shot called Feline Leukemia (cancer of the white blood cells, usually transimitted by cat fights - contact of saliva, or sharing food and water bowls, cats grooming each other).

Dogs may require Bordetella if borded at a kennel, and Leptospirosis if go swimming or the dog park (in contact with contaminated water or urine). There are other vaccines such as Parvo, Corona, Hepatitis, but are not as common.

最后一针是在大约11月左右吧.....
那今年什么时候啊??

Yes - feline FVRCP is an annual vaccine, so is Leukemia. Your cat should have it every year. Rabies is usually given once every 3 years, unless it's a one-year rabies vaccine. Your vet should send out a reminder before the vaccine due date to remind you.

For example, if your cat had his final booster shot in May 1st 2004, he should get this year's vaccine around May 1st 2005. Call your vet, ask for the vaccine due date, then confirm the appointment. That will save you some money...

Yes - your cat is fully vaccinated. He has had all the shots. Notice the third one says "Rabies", this only needs to be given once so he's safe for 3 years. The rest shots including Leukemia should be given again at the same time a year from the 3rd shot was given.

I've heard of combination of boosters, but it depends on the company that makes the vaccine. If your vet said he didn't need a third shot then it's safe. I could call your vet about it and find out what vaccines were given. I know Leukemia only has to be given twice when first getting it, rabies only once. But FVRCP needs 3 boosters initially.
